*scratches head* Well, okay — I’m super glad that you really love the TDA characters! But the TMI books have been out twelve years now, and the TDA books have only been out three years, so it’s going to be inevitable that there’s more content with the TMI characters in it. 

I don’t think of Diego or Kieran as main characters above Kit, Ty and Dru — they neither have more page time nor more plot time. Nor do any of the TMI characters have POVs in TDA until the last book (unless you’re counting the extra content bonus stories, which, who knows, we may have some of those in TWP, and who knows who will be in them!)

 Kit, Ty and Dru, who are main TDA characters, are also the main characters in TWP, and since they’re closely related to Julian and Emma etc it would be surprising if we didn’t see those older characters. It’s likely they’ll occupy a similar role in TWP that the TMI characters did in TDA — advisory and friendly but not central to the story.
